These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the JuratAI platform at jurat.ai (the "Service"), operated by Jurat AI Inc., a British Columbia corporation ("Jurat AI," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is available to law firms and legal practices operating in Canada. Each account must be created and managed by an individual who is authorized to practise law in a Canadian jurisdiction ("Firm Manager"). By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you hold a current and valid licence, membership, or other authorization to practise law issued by the law society or regulatory body of the Canadian province or territory in which you currently operate. We reserve the right to request verification of your authorization at any time and to suspend or terminate your account if you are unable to provide it.
A Firm Manager may grant access to the Service to other individuals within their firm, including those who are not authorized to practise law (such as paralegals, law clerks, articling students, or administrative staff). If a Firm Manager grants access to an individual who is not authorized to practise law, the Firm Manager agrees that all research output generated by or for that individual must be reviewed by a person who is authorized to practise law before any action or inaction is taken in reliance on the contents of that output. The Firm Manager assumes responsibility for ensuring compliance with this requirement within their firm.
To use the Service, you must create an account by providing your name and email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us promptly at [email protected] if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.
JuratAI is an AI-powered legal research platform designed for Canadian legal professionals. The Service uses large language models to assist with research across Canadian case law, legislation, and regulatory materials.
The Service is provided on a pay-as-you-go basis. Your usage is tracked throughout each calendar month, and you will be billed at the end of each calendar month for all queries submitted during that period. Charges are calculated in accordance with the pricing displayed at the time of use. We reserve the right to modify our pricing at any time, with notice provided on our website or by email prior to any change taking effect.
If a query is interrupted or fails to complete due to a technical error in the Service, you will not be charged for that query or will receive a refund for the charge. For completed queries, refunds may be issued at our sole discretion on a case-by-case basis. We do not guarantee refunds for completed queries.
You own all research output generated by the Service in response to your queries. Jurat AI claims no ownership interest in, and retains no licence to, the output produced for you. You are free to use, modify, distribute, and publish the output without restriction, subject to any applicable laws and professional obligations.
For clarity, Jurat AI retains all rights in the Service itself, including its software, algorithms, user interface, documentation, and branding.

The Service is a research tool. It does not provide legal advice.
The output generated by the Service is produced by artificial intelligence. We have designed the Service to be accurate and to provide verifiable citations linked directly to source material, including specific paragraph references, so that you can trace and verify every claim. As of the effective date of these Terms, Jurat AI has not identified any instance in which the Service has fabricated a case, citation, or legal authority during testing. However, because the Service relies on large language models, we cannot guarantee that this will never occur. As with all AI-powered tools, there is an inherent risk that output may contain errors, omissions, inaccuracies, or content that does not accurately reflect the sources it purports to cite.
You are solely responsible for independently verifying all output before relying on it in any professional, legal, or other context. This includes verifying the existence, accuracy, and current status of all cited authorities. The Service provides direct links to cases and specific paragraphs to make this verification as straightforward as possible, and the note-up features of the Service are intended to further assist with verification, but neither replaces your independent professional judgment.
Jurat AI does not warrant that the output of the Service is complete, accurate, current, or fit for any particular purpose. No output of the Service should be treated as a substitute for independent legal research, analysis, or the exercise of professional judgment.
Our collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at jurat.ai/privacy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Jurat AI disclaims all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Without limiting the foregoing, Jurat AI does not warrant that:
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Jurat AI's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise, shall not exceed the total amount of fees you have paid to Jurat AI in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
In no event shall Jurat AI be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including damages for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business opportunities, regardless of whether such damages were foreseeable and whether or not Jurat AI was advised of the possibility of such damages.
Without limiting the foregoing, Jurat AI shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or adverse consequence arising from your reliance on the output of the Service, including reliance on any citation, legal authority, legal analysis, or other content generated by the Service.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Jurat AI and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your reliance on the output of the Service; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any applicable law or regulation, including any rules of professional conduct.
These Terms remain in effect for as long as you have an account with the Service. You may close your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected].
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. If we terminate your access without cause, we will refund any prepaid fees for services not yet rendered.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, and 14 survive termination.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of laws principles. The courts of the Province of British Columbia, sitting in Vancouver, shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.
Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Jurat AI with respect to the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
Amendments. We may amend these Terms at any time by posting the revised Terms on our website. Material changes will be communicated to you by email or by notice on the website at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any amendment constitutes your acceptance of the amended Terms.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Waiver. The failure of Jurat AI to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. Jurat AI may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of its assets.
Language. These Terms are drafted in English. In the event of any conflict between an English version and a translation, the English version shall prevail.
